Call of Duty: Warzone Brings Back Verdansk – Release Date & Teaser Breakdown

In celebration of Call of Duty: Warzone's five-year anniversary, Activision has announced the return of the original Verdansk map on April 3, 2025. This iconic map, cherished by players since Warzone's 2020 launch, is set to reintroduce classic drop zones and terrains, enhanced with new updates.

The announcement was accompanied by a nostalgia-infused teaser trailer set to Nat King Cole's "Unforgettable." The video showcases memorable locations from Verdansk, culminating in a poignant scene where a soldier gazes over the landscape, a tear rolling down his cheek.

While many fans are excited about Verdansk's return, some have expressed concerns regarding the vehicles featured in the teaser. Observant viewers noted that the vehicles appear to be carryovers from Black Ops 6, rather than the original Verdansk models. This detail has sparked discussions among the community, with some feeling that the authenticity of the classic Verdansk experience might be compromised.

The reintroduction of Verdansk aligns with trends seen in other battle royale games, such as Fortnite and Apex Legends, which have revisited their original maps to positive reception. Activision aims to evoke a sense of nostalgia while attracting both veteran and new players to Warzone.

As April 3 approaches, the Call of Duty community eagerly anticipates returning to Verdansk, ready to relive classic battles and explore any new features that await.
